Championship of Ukraine 55+, Nikolaev-2010 category 55+ was opened by basketballs of Donetsk and Odessa. The first point in the asset of their team was recorded by Galkin (penalty throw). Donetsk "veterans" - as a role model, showed excellent physical condition - at high speed - they led the game successfully. And the result is really determined - 82 : 54 victory over a team of Odessa. From Donetsk’s team well-aimed throws made: Galkin - 27 points, Slyusarev - 21 Griniuk - 17. In Odessa the best were krymchanin V. Datsyuk - 23 points, Jurin - 13 and Griese - 8. The next day, after a colorful parade, the opening of the Ukrainian championship 55+ tournament resumed. Teams of Kiev and Nikolaev appeared. Veterans of AMICO immediately took the initiative in their hands - Petrov, Schneider by 18 points, Guk - 13. Tryings of Kiev, who was leaded by highly experienced V. Karpukhin, to change the game failed. However, Pilipenko game - 20 points, Oleynikova - 11, Ovsyannikov - 9, and especially encouragement warlike cries of Yurchenko - 5 points were deserving for attention. AMICO won with a score of 69 : 56 and got a first place in the subgroup. Then teams of Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk met. A team from Dnieper immediately made an impressive superiority in the game getting scores and we all thought that the game is done. But a dangerous weapon Donetsk athletes, speed and endurance began to bear in the third period. Points of Slabko - 24, Galkin – 17, Slyusarev - 14 and other players brought a victory to the team with a score of 71: 56. The  top scorers of the team of Dnieper in this game were Papanov - 14, Korobkov - 12 and Vasilenko - 10. The team of Dnepropetrovsk went to the playground in 30 minutes later after this game, showing to the younger generation, as a good example, a component of the benefits of a healthy lifestyle - endurance. Dnepr immediately took the bill: 12 : 5 – it was Vikharev with a penalty throw, then Vasilenko, and two "triple throws" of Korobko appeared in the basket of Odessa. But the Odessa’s team, increasing the pressure, started to get points - Grizo - 6, Vasiliev - 12, Datsyuk - 11, and came out ahead. By the unbearable strain of all forces Dnepr equalized and the game moved into overtime. In the extra time the team of Dnepropetrovsk showed its fighting spirit - Sergei Shtan'ko and Vladimir Korobkov were able to throw balls of victory and snatch a victory: 49 : 44. The next day Kiev and Dnieper met to fight for the third place. The game was the same - after two periods the score was tied at 28: 28. Then in a crucial period Kievites started trying to break away ahead - Ovsyannikov - 8 Karpukhin - 6, Pilipenko - 7, Oleynikov - 12, earning the victory with a score of 64 : 56 and getting bronze medals of the championship. The organizer of the championship - team of AMICO and Donetsk’s team met in the fighting for the first place. Nikolaev immediately went on the offensive and took the score: Guk got 6 points, Schneider - 8, Petrov - 9. Leaders of Donetsk were Galkin – 8 and Griniuk - 6. The team of Nikolaev "went play", everything was great and all doubts about the champion of the game are gone. A. Schneider - 32 points, Vladimir Guk - 25 and A. Petrov – 23 flashed in the champion game. The most productive from silver medalists were Griniuk - 22, Galkin - 21 and Slabko - 17. The final siren has recorded the winning 88 : 73, AMICO won.
